It is not a secret that Karl Lagerfeld loves Coke Light. In fact, he drinks Coke Light day and night, and nothing else. Last year he designed a Coke Light bottle for France only, and this year, he’s designing 3 bottles to be sold all over Europe! The bottles are inspired by the models of this campaigns, Coco Rocha, Heidi Mount and Jeneil Williams.

When all the luxury brands in the world are too busy looking into their brand identity, emphasizing on going back to their heritage; I found it rather ironic to see a heritage made in chocolate, at the middle of a busy high end mall in Hong Kong. A store is converted into a very impressive exhibition.
Master Mirco Della Vecchia, famous Italian chocolatier, handcrafted white chocolate sculptures in the form of the world’s est-known monuments, such as Paris’ Arc de Triomphe, Greece’s Parthenon, Italy’s leaning Tower of Pisa and Colosseum, the Egyptian temples Abu Simbel and England’s famous Stonehenge. They are so good to look at, and so mouth watering. It’s definitely worth taking a look if you’re in the area.
Mirco Della Vecchia is a three-timeGuinness World Record holder in chocolate sculpting for the heaviest, the tallest, and the largest, in separate occasions.
Exhibition ends Feb 20, 2011
Venue: Gallery by the Harbour, Shop 207, Level 2, Ocean Center, Harbour City, TST

Miu Miu is into fashion film lately. They are working on a short fashion film series called “Women’s Tales’s” created by female directors. The first one is directed by Zoe Cassavetes, starring Caroline de Maigret, Line Gost, Sophie Vlaming and Audrey Marnay. This ultra feminine film is about the Spring/Summer 2011 collection. It is staged in Claridges’ powder room, and it is inspired by subverting conventional notions of glamour.

Sorry I haven’t been blogging lately, I was not very inspired lately but now I’m back 🙂 I want to talk about the couture show of course. The Dior couture show just came out last night. It is “Dior” no doubt, very 1950s. Mr. Galliano created a collection that is true to the brand, with some very easily recognized Dior shapes and of course some new ones.
There are some pleated skirts, quite a few pencil skirts, and some asymmetrical cowl neck tops. The draping and the volume of all the gowns are awesome. The embellishment and embroideries are exquisite as always. Mr. Galliano himself is as cute as ever, I always love when he posed for the photographers.
I love the color of the collection especially. Each piece comes from at least 2 shades. For example you’ll see a lighter pink on one side and then a darker. It is not done in an ombre way but somehow creating a “shadow” effect, either by the fabric itself, or by layers of flowy fabric to create the effect.
The collection is inspired by René Gruau, a fashion illustrator who is famous for using his powerful minimal line to combine seductive sophistication with classic beauty, grace, and sensual elegance.

A mother-to-be, engaged, Natalie Portman, who has an award buzzed on her head because of Black Swan, is posing for Miss Dior Cherie campaign, naked, with a naughty look. Well, not exactly naked, she’s wearing a headband 😛
I think she looks awesome on this ad. The printed ad and also commercial will launch officially in March. So let’s wait and see.
I’m so happy for her. She has everything going for her now. The lovely fiance Benjamin Millepied whom she met on the set of Black Swan. He proposed with a US$750,000 ring as soon as he found out that she’s pregnant (how sweet). The ring looks almost like the one Kate Middleton has from afar (can you believe it?). And now posing so seductively on Dior ad (it’s so awesome!)

It is official! Blake Lively, the 23-year-old, from Gossip Girl, will be the ambassador for Chanel’s new Mademoiselle handbag line.
What a lucky girl, the one who got embraced by Anna Wintour. She was on the Vogue’s cover twice in two years although they didn’t sell very well, but it didn’t matter as long as Anna Wintour likes her.
The BFFs went to Paris together. Blake Lively was introduced to Karl Lagerfeld last July during couture week Paris. They had dinner the night before the show and Karl Lagerfeld even give her a preview of the collection.
This campaign is photographed by Karl Lagerfeld himself. The ads are slated to break in April magazines, and it’s staged on the famous staircase of Chanel at Rue Cambon. I can’t wait to see them.
Blake Lively will also be starring in a superhero movie called Green Lantern, with Ryan Reynolds, and it’s scheduled to be released June 17, 2011 in 3D.
